FROZEN WORLDS IN THE ENGADIN
The photos forming the basis of this
book were taken during the winter of
2001/2002 and are part of the series
Iceage. The feeling of oneness with
nature, the fusion of body and mind
in the face of ice, wind and cold was
overwhelming. All this I had to capture, reproduce and to pass on. With
photography
and poetry I tried to make tangible and to record what I
experienced and
to preserve for the future. In doing so the ice of that
winter resolidifies for the eye of the observer
and becomes a manifestation
of the present. I am very grateful to the
publisher for giving me the
opportunity to share these impressions and
I hope it will enrich all who

IM ENGADIN
Die diesem Buch zugrunde liegenden Photographien
entstanden im
Winter 2001/2002 und wurden Teil der Serie Eiszeit. Das
Gefühl des
Einsseins mit der Natur, das Verschmelzen von Körperlichkeit
und
Geist im Angesicht von Eis, Wind und Kälte war überwältigend.
Das
musste ich festhalten, wiedergeben und weitergeben. Mit Photographie
und Poesie versuchte ich das Erlebte greifbar zu machen und für die
Zukunft zu erhalten. Damit verfestigt sich im Nachhinein nun das Eis
wieder
und wird für den Betrachter zum Manifest der Gegenwart. Ich
bin dem
Herausgeber dankbar, dass er mir die Gelegenheit gibt, diese
Eindrücke
zu teilen und ich hoffe von Herzen, dass dieses Buch alle
Leser bereichert.
