My encaustic work "Cross" was included in the Group Show:

Ancient Medium, N.E.W. (New England Wax) Terrain
May 17 – September 6
at the Duxbur Art Complex Museum

This exhibit provided an opportunity to view how artists use the age-old and unusual technique of encaustic painting to achieve unique and often compelling works of art.  Encaustic, meaning “to burn” in Greek, dates back to the 5th century B.C.  As a contemporary medium, encaustic artists mix colors, apply wax, fuse, etch, layer, collage, transfer photo copy images and incorporate found objects into both two and three dimensional work.
New England Wax, (N.E.W.) is a professional group of artists from all six New England states who paint with a beeswax-based paint kept molten on a heated palette.  Members share a commitment to exchanging ideas and organizing exhibits.  They offer each other both technical and aesthetic insights while supporting one another's creative and professional development.
The intriguing work in the exhibit was curated from more than two hundred pieces submitted by more than seventy artists from all over New England.
