SPIKES & PETALS

When light floats over a forest of flowering cactus, the spikes sparkling, the seductive fragrance of petals in the air – the world really looks beautiful. Nature is full of wonders and the cactee species is one of them.
How can something so strange and 'hurtful' be so beautiful and captivating at the same time?
At the end these plants only mirror the world as a whole, with all the Plus and Cons embedded in one little seed.
These photos were taken in various Botanical Gardens on the island of Gran Canaria and in Monaco. They are part of the Artist Book "Spikes, Petals and the Creation of Myths" with the author reminiscing about the myths of life and the mysteries of illusions.

DORNEN & BLÜTEN

Wenn Licht über einen Wald von blühenden Kakteen schwebt, die Dornen glitzern, ein betörender Duft der Blüten in der Luft liegt – dann ist die Welt sehr schön.
Die Natur ist voller Wunder und die Spezies der Kakteen ist eines davon.
Wie kann etwas so seltsam und 'schmerzhaft' und gleichzeitig so herrlich und betörend sein?
Am Ende spiegeln diese Pflanzen nur die Welt als Ganzes, mit allen Pros und Cons im winzigen Samen verschlossen.
Diese Photos entstanden in verschiedenen Botanischen Gärten auf der Insel Gran Canaria und in Monaco. Sie sind Teil des Künstlerbuches "Spikes, Petals and the Creation of Myths" in dem die Autorin über den Mythos des Lebens und die Mysterien der Lebens-Illusionen sinniert.
